Taiwanese WiMAX operator VMAX Telecom announced that the company has gained approval from the National Communications Commission of Taiwan and will expand the company's WiMAX service to New Taipei City, according to a February 25, 2011 report by the Economic Daily News of Taiwan. It is reported that people living in Zhonghe, Xindian, and Yonghe Districts are now able to access VMAX's WiMAX service. VMAX launched WiMAX service in Taipei in March 2010.
